AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) – is a worldwide fellowship of men and women who help each other to stay sober. They offer the same help to anyone who has a drinking problem and wants to do something about it. Since they are all alcoholics themselves, they have a special understanding of each other. They know what the illness feels like – and they have learned how to recover from it in AA.

AL-ANON is a worldwide organization that offers a program of help and mutual support for families and friends of someone with a drinking problem whether or not the person with a drinking problem seeks help or even recognizes the existence of a drinking problem. Participants in AL-ANON give and receive comfort and understanding through a mutual exchange of experience, strength and hope, and learn how the principles of the AL-ANON program can be applied to their own lives.

ALATEEN (AL-ANON for younger members) is a worldwide organization that offers a program of help and mutual support for families and friends of someone with a drinking problem whether or not the person with a drinking problem seeks help or even recognizes the existence of a drinking problem. Anchor Health Initiative – Case Management Program: Through the efforts of our Care Team and Senior Manager of Community Services, we are able to provide a holistic approach to wellness for LGBTQ clients in need of support. These services are available to patients of Anchor Health Initiative. If you’re not currently a patient, call or email to make an appointment today.

Aware Recovery Care of Connecticut assigns each client multi-disciplinary team that is led by an Addiction Psychiatrist and includes a Licensed Therapist, a Marriage and Family Therapist, a Registered Nurse, a Family Liaison, and a Certified Recovery Advisor. The C.A.R.E.S. Group (Community Addiction & Recovery Education & Support): The mission of The C.A.R.E.S. Group is to provide education, support, resources and hope for communities, families, and individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction. Substance abuse and addiction affect not only the individual, but entire families. The C.A.R.E.S. Group promises to provide a confidential outlet for parents and other concerned family members or friends to discuss issues regarding a loved one’s suspected or confirmed use of mind-altering substances & obtain resources for recovery. Connecticut Counseling Centers, Inc., recognizes the need for a variety of treatment services for patients experiencing problems with substances of abuse and/or mental illnesses. CMHC: The Connecticut Mental Health Center: providing the latest treatments and comprehensive behavioral health services in the community to disadvantaged individuals suffering form serious mental illness and/or addiction disorders. MCCA, Midwestern Connecticut Council of Alcoholism, Inc. is the primary provider of substance abuse prevention, evaluation and treatment services in the greater Danbury area. MCCA has dedicated resources to treat those suffering from problem gambling with the Bettor Choice Gambling Program. This is an outpatient gambling specific treatment program funded by the State of Connecticut.

Narcotics Anonymous – Connectucit Region: N.A. is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs. There is only one requirement for membership, the desire to stop using. We suggest that you keep an open mind and give yourself a break. Our program is a set of principles written so simply that we can follow them in our daily lives. The most important thing about them is that they work. We have learned from our group experience that those who keep coming to our meetings regularly stay clean.

Rushford is one of Connecticut’s leading providers of addiction and mental health treatment programs for teens and adults. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and have received national recognition for our success in delivering high quality prevention and treatment programs. Rushford is a designated Local Mental Health Authority for the Meriden/Middletown region, providing comprehensive services for individuals suffering from serious mental health disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression and others.

Shoreline Recovery – Women’s Sober Housing: Our mission is to provide a safe family style living environment for those who are recovering from alcohol and drug addiction and to encourage those who want to change and improve the quality of their lives. Sober Living for Women on the CT Shoreline is a spacious home located within walking distance to the center of Branford, 12-Step meetings, library, restaurants, coffee shops and shopping. Turnbridge: The Turnbridge Women’s Program is a gender-responsive residential program that provides treatment for young women recovering from addiction, trauma, eating disorders, and other co-occurring mental health disorders. This comprehensive program addresses the unique ways in which addiction affects the physical, mental, and emotional health of young women.

Wildwood Farm: is a unique recovery opportunity located along the Connecticut Shoreline for the LGBTQ+ person seeking time to heal from the challenges of addiction and co-occurring problems. Here the individual finds healing and discovers the hope that life will get better.
For the LGBTQ person this requires a healthy living situation that offers acceptance and the assurance of supportive care, in other words, a place that is “LGBTQ normative.” Where accepting LGBTQ lifestyles is the norm… The Farm warmly welcomes members of the gay community and friends of the gay community.
The objective of the sober house is to make a safe, comfortable home for the LGBTQ person in need of supportive services in establishing a successful recovery plan. The typical stay at the farm is 3, 6 and 12 months, however, other arrangements are possible.
