Believe In Me Empowerment Corporation (BIMEC) has a 14-year history of providing services to youth and adults in New Haven. The Mission of the organization is to improve the lives of children, young adults, and their families impacted by and or affected by incarceration. We also offer supportive housing services, self-help groups employment education and referrals.

The Bureau of Rehabilitation Services strives to create opportunities that enable individuals with significant disabilities to work competitively and live independently. Staff works to provide individualized services, develop effective partnerships, and share sufficient information so that consumers and their families may make informed choices about the rehabilitation process and employment options. The Connecticut Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program can help individuals with disabilities to prepare for, find and keep a job.
We offer individualized services for persons with disabilities who are eligible for VR and provide supports in planning for and achieving their job goals. To be eligible for the VR program, an individual must have a significant physical or mental condition which poses a substantial barrier to employment, and must require VR services in order to prepare for, find and succeed in employment.

Cheshire Youth Employment Services: The service provides a listing of middle and high school aged young people who are available to do a variety of jobs ranging from babysitting, lawn work, animal care, office work, tutoring, and odd jobs, to employment opportunities with local commercial businesses. Annual sign-ups are conducted at both the middle school and high school in the fall.

Franklin S. DuBois Center (FSDC): Serves the greater Stamford/Norwalk area. FSDC is responsible for providing ongoing, individualized treatment to persons living in the community with severe behavioral health disorders who are publicly insured, uninsured and in some cases underinsured. All services offered at the F. S. DuBois Center are aligned with the Commissioner’s initiative to move our practice to one offering Community Support and Recovery Pathways. At the end of the day, people ought to have more advanced skills for self-management. Within many areas of service at FSDC, Peers have become integral components. Laurel House provides mental health resources to people coping with mental illness, and their families, across numerous communities in and around Connecticut. Resources to Recover is a robust array of integrated services and expertise helping people along the path of mental health recovery.
