Adult Behavioral Health: The Barnes III Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit provides 24-hour care and monitoring for adults aged 18 and older. This unit provides the most intense level of treatment for mental health and addictive disorders, including danger of suicide or other self-harm. We treat a diverse group of patients with a wide range of conditions and problems, including bipolar disorder, addiction and substance abuse, major depression and psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia.

Senior Behavioral Health: Our Senior Behavioral Health Unit serves those 65 and older, as well as younger adults who may have early onset Alzheimer’s or dementia or other disorders common in seniors. The unit is specially designed to provide a safe and secure environment that is also attractive, comfortable and full of natural light.

Capitol Region Mental Health Center (CRMHC): is a community based mental health center, operated by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, which provides an array of innovative clinical and community support services to individuals with a psychiatric disability, in many cases with co-occurring problems of substance abuse. Day Kimball Hospital: Our inpatient behavioral health services provide short-term intensive inpatient care for individuals who have voiced or demonstrated an intent to hurt themselves or others, or who behave in a manner that is considered gravely disabled. Located within Day Kimball Hospital, our Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit is a 15-bed locked unit, which means that individuals can be admitted on either a voluntary or involuntary basis. Patients served are primarily ages 16 and older.

Greater Bridgeport Community Mental Health Center (GBCMHC): The Hospital Services Division offers an array of services to meet the needs of individuals, 18 years of age and older with prolonged psychiatric and co-occurring illnesses, who require hospitalization due to acute exacerbation of their symptoms and for those requiring continued rehabilitation before returning to the community. Patients are served in the following locations: The admissions unit (PICU I), the extended care unit (PICU II), and the Co-Occurring Treatment Unit (CTU).

St. Francis Hospital – 8 West Inpatient Detoxification Service: The Opioid Treatment Program is one component of the 8-West Acute Behavioral Inpatient Unit’s detoxification service. The 8-West Unit is part of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center’s Behavioral Health service. Saint Francis provides acute, inpatient child, adolescent and adult psychiatric and substance abuse treatment on four specialty care units.
