Adult Behavioral Health: The Barnes III Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit provides 24-hour care and monitoring for adults aged 18 and older. This unit provides the most intense level of treatment for mental health and addictive disorders, including danger of suicide or other self-harm. We treat a diverse group of patients with a wide range of conditions and problems, including bipolar disorder, addiction and substance abuse, major depression and psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia.
Senior Behavioral Health: Our Senior Behavioral Health Unit serves those 65 and older, as well as younger adults who may have early onset Alzheimer’s or dementia or other disorders common in seniors. The unit is specially designed to provide a safe and secure environment that is also attractive, comfortable and full of natural light.

Day Kimball Hospital: Our inpatient behavioral health services provide short-term intensive inpatient care for individuals who have voiced or demonstrated an intent to hurt themselves or others, or who behave in a manner that is considered gravely disabled. Located within Day Kimball Hospital, our Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit is a 15-bed locked unit, which means that individuals can be admitted on either a voluntary or involuntary basis. Johnson Memorial Hospital: The team on South II provide assessment and treatment of behavioral health issues in adults, including depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, bereavement issues, thought disorders, substance abuse and addiction, and detoxification.

Sharon Hospital – Behavioral Health: Sharon Hospital’s newly renovated Senior Behavioral Health Unit offers psychiatric care designed to meet the specific needs of geriatric patients (55 years and older). Our unit provides acute care for short-term stays with a goal of returning patients to their optimal level of functioning outside of the hospital.
Many of our patients have not had any prior mental health issues before coming to our program; their admission may be a result of factors relating to the aging process. Others have been living much of their lives with psychiatric conditions, which can be exacerbated as they grow older.
