Material Needs

What are Material Needs, why are they important to the mental health and addiction recovery community? Here in Connecticut, life can be expensive; just keeping food on the table and shoes on your children’s feet can be a challenge. Many families are struggling to survive. Living in poverty can create high levels of stress, even if your food and shelter situation is covered, other things add up quickly and can become overwhelming. Simple items like back to school supplies, clothing, and eyeglasses. Baby items such as diapers and formula to larger things like cribs and strollers. These links will help those in the community find the day to day resources that are necessary to improve the quality of their families.

TEEG (Thompson Ecumenical Empowerment Group) we have always believed that the quality of our service rests on two things: compassion for those who seek our service, and accountability to those who fund our programs.

Our ability to serve is driven by the needs of the community. We are grateful for the trust Northeast Connecticut has placed in us to offer a hand up to our neighbors in need. It is a privilege to serve and empower our community. Our motto has always been, “Whatever it takes.”
