The Connection, Inc. has been one of Connecticut’s leading private, nonprofit human service and community development agencies. Each month thousands people throughout Connecticut are assisted by The Connection’s diverse behavioral health, family support and community justice programs. These programs reunite families, break the generational cycles of abuse and neglect, create safer, healthier communities and assist with mental illness and addiction issues. Eddy Shelter (The Connection, Inc.): The Eddy Shelter provides emergency shelter and rapid re-housing support to homeless adults while identifying and planning for long-term housing. Participants must use 211 to access emergency shelter beds.

The Salvation Army: While every disaster is unique and creates its own special needs, the core of The Salvation Army’s EDS consists of several basic services. While these services address many of the typical needs of a disaster survivor, The Salvation Army’s disaster relief is also flexible. Our services are adapted to the specific needs of individuals and communities and scalable according to the magnitude of the disaster.
