Believe In Me Empowerment Corporation (BIMEC) has a 14-year history of providing services to youth and adults in New Haven. The Mission of the organization is to improve the lives of children, young adults, and their families impacted by and or affected by incarceration. Outreach and Engagement (The Connection, Inc.): Helping homeless adults with individualized treatment services and assist in transitioning to appropriate and secure housing.

Continuum of Care, Inc. is a not for profit organization serving adults diagnosed with mental illness, (such as major depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder [OCD], post-traumatic stress disorder [PTSD], borderline personality disorder, etc.) or severe developmental and intellectual disabilities, (such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, traumatic brain injury, or seizure disorders).

The Salvation Army: While every disaster is unique and creates its own special needs, the core of The Salvation Army’s EDS consists of several basic services. While these services address many of the typical needs of a disaster survivor, The Salvation Army’s disaster relief is also flexible. Our services are adapted to the specific needs of individuals and communities and scalable according to the magnitude of the disaster.

VETERANS FOR VETERANS CT:  Support group for veterans from all different wars meets on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. Group will discuss the special challenges that veterans face. While the group meets at the church, it is not religious based.

Veterans Support Foundation offers a transitional living program for formerly homeless veterans who are enrolled in the Connecticut Veterans Administration Healthcare System. VSF provides them with shelter, transportation and support in achieving their health, educational, vocational and independent living goals.

The Women and Families Center is committed to promoting equity and improving quality of life through services that foster empowerment and independence.

Project REACH: Robyn’s House
Robyn’s House provides short term housing to young people ages 18-22. The program is dedicated to moving young people who are in crisis to a path of self-sufficiency and independent living. We offer young people a second chance at learning and achieving the skills necessary to become self-sustaining young adults who can live independently.

Youth Continuum: has worked with the at-risk youth population since its inception. We serve over 1,000 young people annually with comprehensive services for homeless, runaway and at-risk teens and young adults.

Runaway Support

Currently, Youth Continuum operates the most extensive homeless youth outreach program in New Haven which includes a street outreach program, an emergency shelter, and a multitude of services at our Drop-In Center and our MacMullen Educational Training and Enrichment Center. In addition, we have a variety of transitional living programs in the greater New Haven region that are available to youth throughout the state. Another part of this continuum includes our therapeutic residences which provide 24-hour programming and serve a wide range of youth within the child welfare, parole, and probation systems.
