AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) – is a worldwide fellowship of men and women who help each other to stay sober. They offer the same help to anyone who has a drinking problem and wants to do something about it. Since they are all alcoholics themselves, they have a special understanding of each other. They know what the illness feels like – and they have learned how to recover from it in AA.

AL-ANON is a worldwide organization that offers a program of help and mutual support for families and friends of someone with a drinking problem whether or not the person with a drinking problem seeks help or even recognizes the existence of a drinking problem. Participants in AL-ANON give and receive comfort and understanding through a mutual exchange of experience, strength and hope, and learn how the principles of the AL-ANON program can be applied to their own lives.

Connecticut Valley Hospital: At CVH individuals receive services that assist them to better manage their illnesses, achieve personal goals, and develop skills and supports that lead to living the most constructive and satisfying lives possible.
Location: Middletown, CT
The Connection, Inc. has been one of Connecticut’s leading private, nonprofit human service and community development agencies. Each month thousands people throughout Connecticut are assisted by The Connection’s diverse behavioral health, family support and community justice programs. These programs reunite families, break the generational cycles of abuse and neglect, create safer, healthier communities and assist with mental illness and addiction issues. Our staff of 600, spread across offices throughout Connecticut, work to provide you with services when you need them most.

Middlesex Hospital – At the Center for Behavioral Health: Our goal is to help you face and overcome challenges related to mental and emotional health, substance abuse and recovery, identity, and more. We provide complete inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents, and adults.

Narcotics Anonymous – Connectucit Region: N.A. is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs. There is only one requirement for membership, the desire to stop using. We suggest that you keep an open mind and give yourself a break. Our program is a set of principles written so simply that we can follow them in our daily lives. The most important thing about them is that they work. We have learned from our group experience that those who keep coming to our meetings regularly stay clean.

River Valley Services (RVS), a community mental health center serving Middlesex County and the towns of Lyme and Old Lyme, is operated by the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS). RVS’s goal is to provide the highest quality crisis intervention, case management, and residential and clinical services to adult citizens, 18 years of age and older, who suffer from serious mental disorders and who lack the financial means to secure such services in the private sector.

Root Center for Advanced Recovery: provides a continuum of behavioral healthcare services to help individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Counselors work with each patient to develop an individualized recovery plan which is based on the unique strengths, needs, abilities and preferences of each person served. Recovery services include:

Rushford is one of Connecticut’s leading providers of addiction and mental health treatment programs for teens and adults. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and have received national recognition for our success in delivering high quality prevention and treatment programs. Rushford is a designated Local Mental Health Authority for the Meriden/Middletown region, providing comprehensive services for individuals suffering from serious mental health disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression and others.

Rushford at Stonegate: When your teenage son is struggling with addiction, it can be hard to tell where to turn. Rushford at Stonegate, in Durham, Connecticut, offers residential treatment for boys ages 13 to 18. The program engages even the most resistant teens and helps them focus on their individual strengths and make meaningful life changes.

Wheeler Clinic: Our caring, professional team works closely with you to address a broad array of challenges, including addiction, depression, anxiety, marital difficulties and serious mental illness. We also provide support for special needs, including anger management, substance use treatment, gambling addiction and more. Walk-in behavioral health services are available. Not all services may be abailable in all locations.
