Addiction & Recovery: Alphabetical Listings A – I

Addiction is something that controls and destroys many lives in our country; it is not a lack of willpower or poor judgment; it is an illness. There are different recovery models for addiction issues; some may work for you; some won’t. Recovery is not a one size fits all proposition, always explore all your options. Whether it is faith-based, a clinical setting or peer-powered, don’t give up and keep searching until you find one that works for you.

AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) – is a worldwide fellowship of men and women who help each other to stay sober. They offer the same help to anyone who has a drinking problem and wants to do something about it. Since they are all alcoholics themselves, they have a special understanding of each other. They know what the illness feels like – and they have learned how to recover from it in AA.
