River Valley Services (RVS), a community mental health center serving Middlesex County and the towns of Lyme and Old Lyme, is operated by the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS). RVS’s goal is to provide the highest quality crisis intervention, case management, and residential and clinical services to adult citizens, 18 years of age and older, who suffer from serious mental disorders and who lack the financial means to secure such services in the private sector.

Rockville General Hospital: is a 44-bed acute-care community hospital located in Vernon, approximately 15 minutes northeast of Hartford. It offers inpatient treatment mental health for adults.

Others have been living much of their lives with psychiatric conditions, which can be exacerbated as they grow older. If you or someone you love is experiencing any of the following symptoms, you can feel confident that the in-patient Senior Behavioral Health Unit at Sharon Hospital is here to provide a caring and supportive experience:

Attempts or threats of suicide – Changes in sleeping patterns – Confusion, disorientation and memory changes – Inability to care for self at home – Abrupt changes in behavior – Isolation and withdrawal from friends and family – Inability to concentrate or sudden decrease in intellectual functioning – Expressions of helplessness/hopelessness – Impaired understanding of reality, such as seeing or hearing things that no one else sees or hears – Abuse of drugs, medication or alcohol – Difficulty with impulse control – Uncharacteristic anger, irritability, agitation and increased or decreased appetite

Southwest Community Health Center, Inc. SWCHC offers a Discounted Fee Schedule Program for patients who do not have insurance or whose income is below 200% of the Federal Poverty level.

The amount of the fee discounted is based on your family size, income, and determined based upon annual established Federal Poverty Level income guidelines. A patient must complete an application for the discounted fee program and provide income verification, (last 2 paystubs, copy of entitlement checks, W2, etc.). If you’re having an emergency mental health crisis at any time, visit our Emergency Department with a new Behavioral Health designated treatment area. You’ll see a board-certified psychiatrist who is available 24/7. If your situation is dangerous to yourself or to others, we may advise psychiatric evaluation.
